My Generation
2019-Present
The world wasn’t built for millennials. All the advice and guidance we’ve been given doesn’t apply, and our entire generation is left unmoored, insecure, drowning in a sea of anxiety, persecution, debt, and disease, thrashing desperately against the inexorably crushing world that was left for us by our forebears. In recent years, the rate of change has accelerated. The dream of self-sufficiency, of home-ownership, of a rich and thriving life – all of it recedes into the distance as the pandemic, inflation, an increasingly inhospitable earth, the curtailment of rights for enormous swathes of the population, and the yawning chasm between the haves and have-nots cut this dream to shreds. This project speaks to that angst, that uncertainty, and the disconnect between what should have been and what is.
